Piece Description
To understand the recent demonstrations in Tibet that rose to a head on March 10th, we need to understand the significance of this date for the Tibetan people. On March 10th, 1959, tens of thousands of Tibetans in Lhasa rose up to resist the Communist Chinese occupation. Fifty years later, we hear from Tibetans in exile about the meaning of March 10th, and why, half a century after China "liberated" Tibet, they continue to take to the streets of San Francisco, London, Delhi and Lhasa to shout for freedom.
