BRIAN DAVEY (Part 2): PUBLISHED ON PRX 4 / 6 / 2018 - BEYOND A SONG originates in BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA and is sponsored by: THE BLUEBIRD NIGHTCLUB , AIRTIME RECORDING STUDIO , AFRICA SASA , and VISIT BLOOMINGTON.COM
Host Rich Reardin has a conversation with Canadian/Native American singer/songwriter Brian Davey. Born and raised in a small Cree village in northern Ontario Canada called Moose Factory, singer songwriter Brian Davey writes about love, hope, betrayal, strength from the heart, veterans and ancient stories. His music is country but very fluid based on this last outing "Spirit With A Mask" with his stage name Brian Black Thunder that sounded more county rock, rock, pop and easy listening. With his new release "Whispers of the Heart" it is unmistakably straight country; no weaving on the track on this one. His first Single "Never Hide" is about using the light from your heart, to find your way in the dark. A great clean sound with a solid grove.
Brian currently resides in Thunder Bay, 300 miles north of Minneapolis MN with his wife Leesa, daughters Breanne and Courtney and grandsons, Cohen and Phoenix. His current daily mantra is "I thank all the mistakes and sorry ass events that happened in my time on planet earth ...without them I would not be enjoying the life I have today."
Musical selections include: Spirit with a Mask, Never Hide, The Legend of Chief Joseph, What She Doesn't Know, If She Only Knew, Whispers of the Heart.
This program is "Evergreen" and not necessarily date specific.
