Riding across America on horseback sounds like the kind of iconic adventure that could only exist in a John Wayne movie. When former ranch hand Bill Inman set off on his 7 month journey, he had several romantic American notions in mind. Yes, he looked forward to riding off into the sunset, but he also wanted to get famous.
So Bill brought along a documentary filmmaker and asked his wife to drive ahead of him to field phone calls from the local media. The AP got wind of the story, as did Fox News and dozens of newspapers across the country. Bill got emails from as far away as India and was greeted as a celebrity nearly everywhere he went.
Maybe this is the true embodiment of the American dream - to enjoy the cult of celebrity in every small town across the country. In many ways, Bill's journey parallels the candidates on the campaign trail, except for the fact that he's not campaigning for anything but his own fame.

Suggested Host Intro:
As the presidential candidates travel from state to state, shaking hands and kissing babies, a different kind of candidate is recovering from a similar cross country adventure. But instead of a campaign bus, he rides a horse, and he's not really campaigning for anything in particular. Independent producer Jen Nathan has more.
