Series: Barack Obama Addresses Health Care
From: Public Radio Exchange
Length: 00:14:32
Barack Obama gives an overview of his health plan. While he has been noticeably less forthcoming about his plan than Hillary Clinton, Obama lays out three key points: 1) all Americans who want health insurance will be able to buy at least a government-subsidized public plan that will offer the same benefits as congressional health coverage. 2) it will establish a new "watchdog" agency called the National Health Insurance Exchange which will mandate coverage, provides checks against insurance companies, and payout"sliding-scale" subsidies to make coverage more affordable. 3) be inclusive of amenable to all parties in the health care debate, ranging from insurance companies to patient advocates.
