Piece Description
"Sly Crooner" is a half hour weekly entertainment show that features original stories and songs about the irrepressibly stylish and terminally bon vivant habitues of The Royal Palm Court Lounge. Sly the narrator has often been described as "Garrison Keillor for the martini set". The show comes to you directly from the majestic Hotel Alto Nido overlooking beautiful downtown Swanktown "where the women are exotic, the men are well behaved at times and money is no object . . . because we have no money". Other than Sly the main characters are Mr. Lucky the Mayor of Swanktown, Dr. Peculiar the hotel physician, Slow Kitty who tells fortunes in the lobby of the hotel and Cosmo D. Gigolo poet and florist. This show has been programmed as a lead in to "Radio Deluxe" as well as "Prairie Home Companion". Please ask for more info on this show if you are considering it. It is truly unique programming.
