So, every city I have been too has a subculture.

Some easily visible, some not.

One of the subcultures in Washington DC, in the United States, is music.

Street Music.

I bumped into Vincent Highman, a Saxophone player, busking for tourist dollars in the shadow of the US Capitol Building.

I asked him how often he goes out to play.

[All year round, when ever the weather permits, I figure like this why stay in the house and annoy my neighbors when I can come out here and make some money, and practice you know]

I figured his neighbors must be poor, as on this wintry afternoon Vincent was doing a roaring trade.

I asked him what else he got out of his playing to the public.

Did you hear that? On the stage. Vincent is also a Professional Player.

His Saxophone case flowed with 1 and 5 dollar Bills, the odd 10 was visible also.

Which makes his practice sessions a nice little side line.

Nice enough to attract attention from the

[Police.....you can?t breath air in America without taxes you know]

That?s the truth.

With the amount of money in his case maybe the Police were collecting on behalf of the Tax man.

Who knows.

I do know that the bitterly cold weather is too much for me, therefore its time to head home.
