The streets of Washington DC in the United States are home to many subcultures. One of them is music. Street music. Performed by Professionals, Amateurs or students, all trying to make a quick buck off the passing drone workers or the hyper tourist trade. Ray files this Post Card after bumping into a Street musician on the coldest day of the year.

So, every city I have been too has a subculture.
Some easily visible, some not.
One of the subcultures in Washington DC, in the United States, is music.
Street Music.
I bumped into Vincent Highman, a Saxophone player, busking for tourist dollars in the shadow of the US Capitol Building.
I asked him how often he goes out to play.
[All year round, when ever the weather permits, I figure like this why stay in the house and annoy my neighbors when I can come out here and make some money, and practice you know]
I figured his neighbors must be poor, as on this wintry afternoon Vincent was doing a roaring trade.
I asked him what else he got out of his playing to the public.
[Meet a lot of People...There a lot of Benefits to being a street musician]
Did you hear that? On the stage. Vincent is also a Professional Player.

Quartets, Quintets, Ensembles, Marching Band, Philharmonic Orchestras and... etcetera, etcetera.
But what about the Humble Busker?
We usually see them in the town center strumming a guitar and hollering out well know tunes trying to eek out a few coins for a meager existence.
You?ve seen them...and you have either been amused by their antics or annoyed by their existence.
