The Blind Boys Of Alabama have just released their new album "Down In New Orleans." The Blind Boys of Alabama are backed on various tracks by The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Allen Toussaint, The Hot 8 Brass Band, and their own band. The New Orleans musicians bring a new dimension to the gospel sound of this venerable group, which goes back to 1939, but a spiritual feeling and message remains at the core of their music. This program also features a brand new album from the "Nu-Wave A Cappela" group The Bobs, now in their twenty-sixth year. Their incredible vocal prowess and goofy social commentary are unique qualities. We will also play a generic boy-group song from another a cappella group -- you'll never need another song like this after this one! We have songs from Catherine Russell's new album "Sentimental Streak" and a recent album from Champian Fulton, plus more New Orleans sounds from the Dirty Dozen Brass Band with Dr. John, and some "creepy" instrumental music from Darol Anger and Mike Marshall.
