My name is Gayle Montanez.
Kara is my granddaughter, and she's in a wheelchair. She suffers from seizures, a heart condition and a rare chromosome disorder so rare it doesn't have a name. In her eight short years of life she has already broken three bones. The doctors say she was born with very fragile bones, and they don?t think she will outgrow this.
Kara's favorite things to do are to swing, go to McDonald's and go to the airport to watch the airplanes take off and land. She sits in her wheelchair and claps and yells for each jet. We live close to the airport, Some days we'll get in the van and drive over to the airport. She sits in her wheelchair and yells for all the planes. I first noticed Kara's love for planes about a year ago. We were driving past the airport and a plane went right over us. Kara looked up and yelled "oh I like that!"
