Colorado congressman Tom Tancredo has dropped his bid for the Republican presidential nomination and is endorsing former rival Mitt Romney. At a news conference in Des Moines, Tancredo announced he is pulling out of the race just two weeks before the Iowa caucuses. He says it's clear he cannot win and fears remaining in the race would contribute to the nomination of someone with an abysmal record on immigration. He then mentioned both former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and Arizona Senator John Mccain by name.
Tancredo says after sitting down with Mitt Romney he's determined the former Massachusetts Governor hsas the best chance of going the distance and continuing his fight against illegal immigration.
