Description:

"Finding Solid Ground" is a one-hour documentary that examines residents' sense of security in New Orleans and the Louisiana Gulf Coast, after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. We look at how people are creating - or are unable to create - secure foundations on which to rebuild their communities and lives. From public housing to Uptown mansions, city music clubs to rural fishing docks, we cover a range of perspectives. As Louisianans continue to piece and patch together solutions to social, environmental, and economic crises, we've taken an audio snapshot that aims to answer the question: "What's it like down there now?"

Narrated by: Lance Nichols
Original local music from: Jamelle Williams and His Slick Six; Bruce "Sunpie" Barnes; Lost Bayou Ramblers

A great special to air around the holidays, with strong themes of family, home and the struggle to find both.
