Default-piece-image-2 Shortly after 9/11 7th Graders from the Washington Irving Middle School in Los Angeles were drawing cartoons of the terrorist attacks in New York. Their teacher Joe Kevany thought it would be a good way of expressing their fears and feelings after the tragedy. This piece describes some of the cartoons the kids came up with. It features Devon Smith, Michael Tuacon, Carlos Valladares and their teacher Joe Kevany. A different version of this piece aired on KPFK news in Los Angeles in January 2002.
