Review of Cat Show

This is such an afectionate portrait of an event. The tone of the interviews are never judgmental or ironic. (Best question: “How would you describe the look on [your cat’s] face.” Answer: “Inquisitive.”) He’s sincere, and he loves cats, too, so I don’t think he thinks of himself as being too outside the whole thing, which allows the tone to feel more intimate. The sound of the cats is great, as well. The production and the use of music in general are really nice. It takes you into a whole other world, and integrates you into it... and the world you are entering isn't presented as absurd or ridiculous, but sweet. It’s sort of like Best in Show, except with cats. This could fit in with some programming about people and their pets.

Review of Cat Show

Nice job and good sound - anything but boring (even if you're not obsessed with cats which I am and millions of listeners are) mostly because the personality of the producer is so winning - he's kind of like David Letterman without the nastiness. It's not easy mike yourself and be witty at the same time -then go back and treat the sound so carefully to make it sound like he was so relaxed and witty the whole time. A pro.

If you are a lover of the most popular pet in the US you will of course love this piece.

I happen to have a Sphynx so I guess I am biased.

Lots of fun listening. The characters you will meet here, my oh my.... I hope I dont go here as my cat years move along.

You will want to make cat sounds - Meow - listening to this. Has an upbeat quality, not as "straight" as the Best of Show take on this kind of scene.

Hypoallergenic listening. Fun. It will make you smile and perhaps cringe too.
