Live at the Monterey Jazz Festival - Celebrating 50 Years tells the story of the festival, from its inception in 1958 to today. Trumpeter and Composer Terence Blanchard is the host. He is the Artist in Residence for MJF/50. The program features interviews with: Dave Brubeck Dizzy Gillespie and Louis Armstrong's 1958 panel discussion at MJF Dr. Herb Wong, jazz educator who has attended every festival year Bill Minor, author and festival historian Tim Jackson, GM of the Monterey Jazz Festival Paul Vieregge, 50 year veteran stage manager of the festival Newly released archival music, captured from the festival stage: Louis Armstrong, 1958 Dave Brubeck, 1958 Dizzy Gillespie, 1965 Thelonious Monk, 1964 Miles Davis, 1963 Sarah Vaughan, 1971 Pat Metheny, 1998
