Mel Brown - a remembrance

Piece Description

Sugar Blue is a remarkable blues harmonica player, who became known to large audiences after playing with the Rolling Stones on their song "Miss You." Blue squeezes some amazing high notes out of the harmonica and has matchless technical skills. He also has a deep blues sensibilty combined with a creative and forward-looking artistic view. So, why has it been a decade-plus since his last album? The answer is part of the subject matter on this album, which also explores politcal issues and looks at the blues itself. We almost lost this guy, but he seems fully revived now.
