In Pennsylvania the laws are lax at padep. Companies are on the honor system to report spills. Not enough personnel to monitor drilling. We currently have a company drilling an injection well 400 above our spring fed fish pond. I videoed the foam blowing out of the pit, I videoed Ucarcide containers, etc. We had foam on our pond one morning which I reported only to be told that foam occurs on pond water. I said not our spring fed fish pond! A property owner doesn't stand a chance and will lose a good spring fed fish pond because the government isn't able to protect the environment. The water level in the pond is going down, there is another injection well to be drilled on another ridge above the pond. Will we have anything left? I video daily what they are doing, if you could use this for studies and remedies to protect the environment. I have pictures of the pit with cutting outside the pit so that one knows the subsurface is getting polluted. The government does not make these companies remove the waste pit cuttings and they wrap the cuttings up in the plastic diaper and bury them.
