Description:

Eric Vloeimans' Fugimundi
Francien van Tuinen and band

A "natural talent, and born jazz-singer," Francien van Tuinen <Ty-u-nin) has control, rhythm, pitch and diction, ? and the verve to deliver a powerful song. With her quintet, she adds (English) lyrics to Jesse van Ruller's arrangements of Scriabin, Satie and Ravel. This is jazz with hints of folk, flamenco, fado, and tango.
Eric Vloeimans <vloo-ee-mans) ranks highest among European trumpet players. His delicate horn lines are often compared to those of Clifford Brown and Miles Davis. He performs here with his trio Fugimundi <Fu-gee-mun-dee). The performances were captured at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. Daniel Frankl hosts.
