Piece Description
We witness a graduation ceremony for an extraordinary set of women...These eight women have endured homelessness - as mothers. At some point in the last two years, they enrolled in INNterim Housing, a Maryland non-profit that treats the women in a very hands-on and holistic approach. INNterim teaches life skills like cooking, cleaning, and caring for their children, but it also offers the women career-building services to get the women out of the minimum wage lifestyle. Financial literacy classes are a big part of INNterim Housing. The women pull themselves out of debt. And a big part of the program focuses on homeownership - many of the graduates become homeowners.
Broadcast History
It originally aired on the arts and cultural magazine radio show, Friday May 11th.

As they leave Innterim Housing, t...
