Piece Description

The musicians at Baltimore's High Zero Festival of Experimental and Improvised Music tend to avoid melody, rhythm, harmony, or other musical conventions. They also avoid playing with people they've ever met. The result can be sublime. Lawrence Lanahan reported on the 2004 installation of High Zero, interviewing the organizers, performers, and audience members, and capturing some very unusual music.
