The Rock Block is part of the Girls Rock Institute at the Rock and Roll Camp for Girls in Portland, Oregon. The organization is now in its seventh year and has spawned rock camps in other cities and even other countries. Hear how it all got started and how the current staff are continuing to empower girls ages 8-18 through music.
This piece was originally part of a half-hour show about women teaching women, but I think it stands pretty well on it's own. The end credits are optional. You can leave them in or just have an anchor say them at the end of the piece. All the kids' parents have signed media release forms.
