Piece Description

According to Military Spouse magazine -- and there is such a thing, hot off the press in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania -- today there are over 1.1 million spouses of active American troops. One of the newest additions to the bunch is Kristin Owens. She met her husband, Major Greg Soukup of the US Air Force, in August 2005. They were both in their 30s at the time, living in the DC area and looking for love. Well, first comes love, then comes marriage, and Kristin and Greg walked down the aisle on January 26th. But the aisle wasn't quite what they expected, nor, in fact, was the date -- the casino chips they gave out as party favors were all embossed with: "Kristin and Greg, February 24th, 2007." See, when it comes to war and peace, everything doesn't always go as planned, as Kristin and Greg soon found out...

Review of Tying the 'Not'?: Saying I Do Before Iraq

Absolutely loved listening to this story told in the "When Harry Met Sally" style.

I kept envisioning this couple sitting on the couch talking to the camera about their experience of having their wedding day pushed up because of military demands.

There are appropriate and fun music interludes to help this story along and it only makes it cuter.

I only ask that we hear a follow-up of this charming couple when Greg returns from his duty in Baghdad.
