Piece Description
In the land of big ideas and wide open spaces, can a person pursue the American dream on a minimum wage, be it 5.15 or 7.25? Talking with a handful of citizens--workers, economists, small-business owners, a reverend-- the contradiction between our values and what we believe is feasible jumps to light in the testimony of Jimmie Smith, former sanitation worker in Memphis, Tennessee.

Review of The American Dream and the Minimum WageGood balance between authorities and the real people that fight everyday to survive. It's not hit you over the head with opinions which I like. This is a very good methodical yet quietly human piece. |

nice
Nice to get a balance there, yes. Although it would have been better to get other economist opinions at end rather than ending with 'not all its cracked up to be' as there are many studies that show minwage improves or doesnt have much effect on employment
