Vice President Dick Cheney recently had an exchange of words, during a photo session on the Senate floor, with Vermont Senator Pat Leahy. Leahy has been critical of Cheney’s former company, Halliburton, and alleged improprieties in the company’s being granted military contracts in Iraq. Mr. Cheney criticized Mr. Leahy, apparently, for this criticism, to which Mr Leahy responded by criticizing Mr. Cheney, to which Mr. Cheney responded by telling Mr. Leahey to “eff off.”
Leahy said later, “I think he was just having a bad day. I was kind of shocked to hear that kind of language on the floor.”
It is against rules, by the way, to curse on the floor when the Senate is in session. Fortunately for Mr. Cheney, the Senate was not in session, and C Span did not record the exchange. Otherwise he might have joined Janet Jackson, Bono, and Howard Stern as another virtual martyr in the new...

Review of Dick Cheney, Conservative Shock Jock
I like Kessler’s politics and he makes a fine point. He’s a good political satirist, in the old school sense. I like his fast-talking, too-- it’s just that sometimes he’s just too fast to properly enjoy the full breadth of his thoughts. As always, these super short essays would make a nice drop in to a morning show. His speed would make such an interesting contrast to a lot of slower deadpan readers on the air.
