Piece Description
I won't lie, the reason I choose Durham's mayor, Bill Bell, for my project was because it made sense; the mayor has to be a passionate citizen. Being elected official is a textbook definition of civic engagement! What I learned from my profile of the mayor was that truly anyone can make a difference. Engaged citizens don't have to be what people expect them to be, they can be themselves and still make a difference to the community.
