I have been to a lot of protests in the past 6 years. In 2003 I was barricaded in police pens in New York as we demonstrated against the invasion of Iraq. In 2004 I went to jail with over 200 others as we rode our bikes through the streets before the start of the Republican National Convention. I?ve been doing it a long time, and we are still at war. I?d started to give up.
So I?ll admit that it was more out of guilt than passion that I headed down to the Center for Social Justice on Union street in Seattle for today?s anti-war protest. I was expecting a middle aged crowd, a mild bunch, the few complainers willing to put their grumbles into action on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
