Piece Description

A final visit to Tower Records netted some interesting finds at 70% off for Blues File host and producer Jonny Meister. Yet it was certainly a bittersweet experience. It is now impossible to find many blues or jazz CDs in a store near home. Tower's closing also reflects overall drops in music sales, which is certainly not good news for those whose sales figures are already at the bottom of the pop music list, such as blues artists. This Blues File looks at the role of retail record stores in the past and shares some of those final purchases from Tower Records.
