Cheryl-Anne Millsap: (Christmas) Just in the nick of time
From: Spokane Public Radio
Length: 00:03:59
I peaked too early. It happens every year. I never quite go the distance. About mid-month, my spirit flags. I get tired of the music. It seems like every time we get into the car the same tired version of Jingle Bell Rock is playing. I think I hate that song. The tree dies. The dog eats chocolate and throws up all over the house. By the time Christmas rolls around, I've lost the glow. I'm grouchier and meaner than the Grinch.

I peaked too early. It happens every year.
I always let the children talk me into putting the tree up right after Thanksgiving and tuning the car radio to that station that plays Christmas music all day and all night the entire month of December.
I start wearing my favorite red boots and I buy eggnog and peppermint ice cream at the grocery store. We make fudge.
Every year I sail into the Christmas season full of the holiday spirit. But I never quite go the distance.
About mid-month, my spirit flags. I get tired of the music. It seems like every time we get into the car the same tired version of Jingle Bell Rock is playing. I think I hate that song.
I get sick of eggnog. My boots start to pinch my feet. The tree dies. The dog eats chocolate and throws up all over the house. All over the house.
Some...

Review of Home Planet: (Christmas) Just in the nick of time
Listening as a Mother I realized I knew exactly the slump that Ms. Millsap was describing. The tiring long days leading to Christmas and the realization that this is NOT what the Christmas spirit is suppose to be.
A great time listening and realizing that through children the spirit can be regained.
I find myself searching for more of her work.
