Radio Tomate Latino

Radio Tomate is an innovative podcast designed in the NPR genre; but in Spanish. The basic objective is to transmit un-slanted information on subjects pertinent to the Spanish speaking community both inside and outside of the US (12.0M un-documented, 32.0M documented and 400.0M+ in Latin America and Spain). Programming subjects presently scheduled are; immigration, free-trade initiatives, human rights, corruption, and politics/economics of the hemisphere. In addition, we intend to air stories of human interest which touch both triumph and disaster and reflect how the Latin spirit and ingenuity cope with these two imposters. Music, tradition and culture mixed with humor will provide a backdrop for a mutual search for solutions to the problems which affect the Latin community . The website is created with open-source WordPress which will allow listeners to comment and provide direct feedback and opinions (both audible & written) that will help shape the direction of programming and allow public discourse. We are excited about the prospects of Radio Latino and meet the challenge with trepidation and hope; both for the success of the station and the region ? by region, we mean America (to include the US).
