Robert Nesta Marley, known as Bob Marley is widely regarded as the God Father of reggae and has put Jamaica firmly on the cultural map through his special genre of 'message' music. Reggae has its origins in African rythms and for the first time, a reggae artist had the same recognition as some of the World's best known rock groups. Bob Marley's birthday falls during Black History month and we commemorate the life and times of Bob Marley through his message. Marley survived an assasination attempt but could not survive cancer which took his life in 1981 at just 36 years old. Though Bob Marley is gone, his message and music live on.
