Piece Description
In the 1890 census, more than 90 percent of African-Americans lived in the southern U-S. By the middle of the 20th century, that number had plummeted to just over 53 percent of blacks, as folks moved up north to escape Jim Crow segregation and find better economic opportunities. But that trend is reversing, as black Americans return to what's being called the New "New South". Tanya Ott (TAWN-yuh AWT) reports.

Review of The "New" New SouthTanya Ott's examination of the trend of blacks returning to the south is a well researched production on an aspect of lack life not often cosidered in mainstream press. This woud be a good kick off for a discussion focusing on social trends & black society in America today. |

Review of The "New" New South
Disclaimer: My name is also Ott, but I'm not related to the producer. I enjoyed this piece and found it polished and professional. Well put together and perfectly chosen subjects that are personable and likable. This piece is a short piece but doesn't feel like it as it's a complete piece that feels substantial.
