Yardsale3_small If you live by the adage "one man's trash is another's treasure", you'd better hightail it down to Alabama -- or Georgia, Tennessee or Kentucky for that matter. This month (August -- every year) the states team up for what's billed as the World's Longest Yard Sale: 500 miles! The event draws thousands of collectors, bargain hunters, and curiosity seekers from as far away as New York, California, and Canada. And as Tanya Ott (TAWN-yuh AWT) reports, it a boon to the local economies. (NOTE: the 2007 yard sale is AUG 2-5th)
