The training commitment to a world class athletic event such as the Ironman Triathlon is not unlike the commitment a woman makes to bringing a child into the world. With pain, loss of sleep and a rollercoaster of emotions the two experiences can be quite similar. A mother of two tells her story of why she wants to be an Ironman.

Review of She's An IronmanBrilliant! Perfect for ME/ATC cut away, just needs some anchor help. A clever and well recorded interview with (apparently) good questions profiling a female ironman competitor as she runs down the road. The piece then switches to a sit-down interview where the woman compares being pregnant to training for a race. The piece would work great as part of a magazine show or local news cast. Because there is no narration the story would need some thoughtful anchor ins and outs. |

Review of She's An Ironman
It caught my interest immediately - an indication of the great editing throughout the piece. It's also different, not just in the non-narrative style, but the story itself. I don't think I've ever heard the story of one amateur athlete, and the personal motivation for doing a marathon. Fine work!
