Piece Description
Award-winning documentary filmmaker Caveh Zahedi has made films about taking psychedelic drugs, searching for the existence of god in Las Vegas and - life in a bathtub. His latest film project is the study of sex addiction - still a closeted problem - and what Zahedi calls "the final addiction taboo that is still not cool, socially, to talk about." Zahedi, wrote and directed the film. He also stars in it. -- But it's his addiction that's in the leading role. "I Am a Sex Addict" tells the story of his 20-year struggle with sex addiction - or, in his words - with a "Prostitute Fetish" that few in society talk about. Weekend America: Iowa Edition's Stephen Grant interviews Zahedi about his bold and ambitious comedy, which took 15 years to complete and earned him the 2006 Gotham Award for "Best Film Not Showing at a Theater Near You."
