Jazz at Lincoln Center notes with regret the passing of the great jazz saxophonist Dewey Redman on September 2nd. He was 75. For stations that wish to mark his life and work we have a recent Jazz at Lincoln Center live concert featuring Redman?s ?brilliant? (NY Times) performance in music of Ornette Coleman. Redman and Coleman were friends from high school onward and to hear Redman in this celebration in front of the full power of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra is an illuminating and empathic experience. The Jazz at Lincoln Center program with Ed Bradley is available for use by all North American public stations at no charge until October 31, 2006. Stations must register with tmedina@wfmt.com.
