Three New Yorkers in Lower Manhattan reflect on what their lives are like five years after the attacks on the World Trade Center. Revered Cannon James Callaway of Trinity Church reflects on his proximity to the site, how it's changed, and the importance of remembrance; Christina Seid, who runs her family's ice cream shop in Chinatown, explains the struggles of small business owners to rebound from 9/11; and Joanne Capestro opens up about her fears, needs and progress after escaping the North Tower's 87th floor on 9/11. The program does not rehash the day. Instead, we hear the striking similarities and themes that come from three very different New Yorkers living in a post-9/11 world.
A separate 30-minute audio diary special produced by George Bodarky focuses on Christina Seid. The program is called "Chinatown Five Years Later: An Audio Diary".
