Piece Description
Coinciding with the 150th anniversary of the first publication of Walt Whitman?s ?Leaves of Grass,? Pulitzer Prize winning author Michael Cunningham invokes the spirit of Whitman in his latest work ?Specimen Days.? It?s considered part of a new wave of post-9/11 fiction. But some critics say it?s too soon after the catastrophic event to create great literature. The program features an interview with Cunningham, short excerpts from his book and readings of Whitman, as well as a visit to his home.
