Transcript for the Piece Audio version of Another Lousy Day
HOST INTRO:
Picture your precious family heirlooms... a diary, perhaps, like this one. Picture them as an object of mysterious origin in a resale store, with a yellow pricetag reading five dollars.
A few years ago writer David Kodeski was rummaging through an antique store on Chicago's North side when he came across two diaries from 1960 and 1961. He bought them, took them home, and began to read. The result: a one-man show called Another Lousy Day, detailing his quest to find the diary's author. He and producers Elizabeth Meister and Dan Collison, in association with Chicago Public Radio, adapted the show to radio. Diana Slickman reads the diary entries.
