She then gets found out at work and is promptly fired. This is the story of the triumph of love in a deeply oppressive society; Tom Truss tells the story from of Buddha Boy - the man on the street in New Orleans who is obsessed with Tom's necklace and will do anything to get it - and what happens when Tom just can't say no; Gillian Kendall's tells of her disastrous relationship with a man and her burgeoning relationship with the Quaker woman with the gray eyes; and finally, Jeff Cotter's story of his amorous night in a borrowed van - and what happens when it pops out of gear and his date goes downhill.
