HOST LEAD: The Southern Ute and Ute Mountain Ute Tribes have banded together to host one of the biggest, though largely unrecognized, sporting events in the world. KSUT?s Eric Hayes reports on the North American Indigenous Games, coming up this summer at venues from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs.
ERIC: Since 1990, the North American Indigenous Games have been held about every three years. The Games feature thousands of athletes from tribes all over the United States and Canada. It is an Olympic-style event that NAIG Council President Harold Joseph says receives much greater support and media attention in Canada than in the U.S.
