It's an Emergency!

From: Paula Mauro
Length: 00:07:45

Examining the artistic process, with power tools. Read the full description.

Housesculpt_small Jenny Feder is an artist and carpenter who has spent over 20 years working on her own house and making eclectic, beautiful, miniature sculptural houses out of wood, metal and collected objects. Her basement studio is part cabinet of wonder of meticulously-organized metal thermoses, tea tins, book jackets, vintage metal hardware, cigar boxes, and old toys, and part whirring carpenter's toolshed of saws, drills, knives, planers, slicers, punchers, and sharpeners. Feder says she means to be careful with her tools. But when she's making something, she can't always be bothered to think about being careful. Or, as she puts it— once she starts building, all hell breaks loose. Feder discusses her artistic process and her battle scars. Her partner Jill Dunbar helps flesh out the story.
