This is part two in a year-long series I'm currently working on called Kentucky Works.
The focus of the series is to look at people in their professions and how jobs have helped mold traditions and the culture of Kentucky.
Most of the pieces in Kentucky Works will be told solely by the worker.

Review of Making the Louisville Slugger
There is nothing more horrible to the true baseball fan than the awful "ping" of a baseball meeting an aluminum bat. In the peaceful setting of the Louisville Slugger factory in downtown Louisville, Kentucky artisans still turn the one and only Louisville Slugger baseball bats that provide the sound of ball meeting wood that epitomizes the national game. Watching a bat being made (as I have) is akin to watching monks illuminate a book of hours in the 13th century. This piece gives a real insight into the people who do this work and their love for the game and the product they make.
