Eliot Schrefer, author of the young adult book “Endangered,” sat down with Northland College radio station WRNC to talk about his story of a young girl’s relationship with a bonobo and their trials in the Democratic Republic of Congo in Africa. “Endangered” is a 2012 National Book Award finalist in Young People’s Literature. The book also won the 2013 Green Earth Book award for young adult fiction. Schrefer is also the 2013 recipient of the Sigurd F. Olson Writing Award for Children's Literature.
