Grab PDs’ attention with an exciting short description, and include more details about your piece in the long description. Good descriptions help your pieces appear in our search. Finally, double-check your description for clarity, grammar errors, and typos so that programmers will take your work seriously.
The Short Description will show up prominently on your piece page, in search results, in the list of Related Pieces on other piece pages. The Long Description will appear further down on your piece page.

Make your piece accessible for stations by uploading multiple versions. This producer has uploaded the same piece edited to two different lengths; you might consider uploading an hour-long piece both in a single hour-long version and as two half-hour segments.
Basics > Audio Versions
Check the box that says “My audio files go into different versions…” Name your audio versions, then click and drag the light-yellow box containing your audio file into the appropriate field. To change the version names, choose the Edit button above the Versions box.

Transcribing can take a long time, but including a transcript with your piece is the best thing you can do to make it appear in PRX and Google searches. Copy and paste a transcript into the Transcript Field, where search engines can access it. Attaching a transcript as a .txt or Word document in the Additional Files section is helpful for stations as well.
