SALTcast is a podcast co-produced by the SALT Institute for Documentary Studies in Portland, Maine and PRX and distributed by PRX. SALTcast highlights work of independent producers who have graduated from the Salt Institute as well as others whose work fits the sound and intent of the podcast. SALTCast also takes specific aim at explaining the quality of the works and why they were selected for the podcast. The podcasts are made available directly to listeners as free MP3 streams and downloads through http://podcast.prx.org/saltcast as well as through iTunes and other podcast directories.
