Atlantic Public Media

APM's Mission "To honor the ideals of public broadcasting at the local and national level through creative and experimental approaches to program production, training, and distribution. "To explore ways to act as a positive catalytic force in the communities we serve, using all appropriate media for the exchange of perspectives, the stimulus of the imagination, and the celebration of our inherent diversity." APM's History Atlantic Public Media was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1993 (originally named Cape and Islands Community Public Radio) to create a new public radio service for Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. For seven years, founder Jay Allison and a band of zealots pushed this along at the local and federal level. In 2000, with WGBH-Boston supporting and adopting our effort, WCAI and WNAN finally went on the air. Amen. APM has now evolved into a production and training organization, focusing on public media, particularly public radio, with projects like Transom.org, This I Believe, The Moth, and many others, including this one, The Public Radio Exchange.
