On vinyl albums, some of the best songs can be found on the flip side of the record - also known as the b-side. That's the idea behind B-Side. We tell stories you can't hear anywhere else on the dial. Each half-hour show is a unique radio experience, complete with stories and music that tie into a theme.
B-Side was created five years ago by a group of students and recent graduates of the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. Our contributors are now spread across the country and include public radio reporters, magazine editors, newspaper reporters, book authors, sound engineers, a teacher, a stay-at-home-mom, and a 12-year-old middle school student from Alaska, among others. The show airs on KALX-FM in Berkeley, CA and also has many web-only listeners at www.bsideradio.org.
B-Side is top-quality radio on a shoestring budget, produced on home computers and recorded in closets across the country.
