The description of pears is at once sensuous and mouth-watering, or perhaps sensual. I can't decide - both really, since the remarks on their curves and beauty sounded like the description of a Rubens painting. Yet good enough to eat... This is the very kind of piece that you'll only hear on NPR. It draws you in and beckons you to imagine the scene in your own mind's eye. It is more a sound painting than an aural experience.
