As a kid
I saw an amusement park attraction that
haunted me for years. A large building hid the
creaky ride through fake San Francisco on the morning of
April 18, 1906 as a 7.7 quake leveled most of the
city and killed more than 3,000. Charming.
Check out far more accurate quake related programs
on PRX.
North of San Francisco, in high priced Marin County,
agriculture is actually alive and well. For Earth
Day, try Claire Shoen's story about the cows who
live there.
As Al Jazeera prepares to launch a cable channel,
the new special on Arab media from KQED and The
Stanley Foundation could not be more timely.
Listen up!
