2007 Zeitfunk Awards Ceremony

Remember the 2007 Zeitfunk awards? We announced the winners in February '08 and sent out the trophies, so now it's time for our virtual awards ceremony!

I'd like to thank the Cambridge Tae Kwon-Do studio that went out of business and donated these trophies to PRX for some of us producers to enjoy. I haven't won a trophy since I was the back-up second baseman on the Springfield Lions in 1970.

Seriously, thanks to Jake, John, the whole PRX crew and all those who worked originally to turn this content-sharing and income-producing vision into a reality. Special thanks to the radio stations for shopping at PRX. It's helping to keep radio creativity alive.

Wow! Two years in a row. This is great news! I'm so glad to see that more and more stations feel that Compact Discoveries serves their audiences well, and helps spread the love of classic music to new listeners.

PRX is an easy, efficient, inexpensive and fun way of distributing public radio programs. It is particularly great for people like me who are too lazy or busy to walk to their mail boxes. On the other hand, it is depriving me of much-needed exercise.

Thank you so much for the "Zeitfunk" award. I am most honored and appreciative -- of the award but mainly of the opportunity to work with PRX from the start.

My daughter FuXian was also particularly pleased. She gave me a hug, told me she was very proud of me, and made sure we put it up some place high so it wouldn't get damaged. It may also have been reassuring to her as an indication that I actually do something for a living.
